In Santa Caterina herrscht eine Aura der Spiritualität und der energetischen Aufgeladenheit. Auf dem Monte Serra gelegen, wo die Gesteinsschichten aneinander reiben, und auf einem antiken Tempel errichtet, ist das Kloster nach einer Erscheinung der Hl. Katharina seit 1624 Pilgerstätte. Santa Caterina – Schutzpatronin der Philosophen und Intellektuellen – ist ein Ort des künstlerischen Schaffens und der Wissenschaft. Ein magischer Ort voll Energie und Mystik seit Jahrtausenden.

Auf diesem energetischen Kraftfeld findet ab Juni 2010 alljährlich das Musikfestival Intonazione statt. Es bietet Aufführungen alter Musik an Orten, die dafür seit Jahrhunderten prädestiniert sind. Darüber hinaus werden Künstler im Dialog mit den Locations – der Klosterkirche, dem Dom von Rio nell’Elba und den Giardini Pubblici – Werke schaffen, die an ihrem Entstehungsort auch aufgeführt werden.

In den vergangenen 30 Jahren, nach der Wiederentdeckung des Klosters durch den deutschen Fotografen und Schriftsteller Hans Georg Berger, ist die Einzigartigkeit des Ortes mit den Qualitäten hunderter Künstler und Wissenschafter in fruchtbaren Dialog getreten. An diese Tradition wollen wir mit Intonazione anknüpfen. Das kreative Potential von Santa Caterina soll neu belebt werden, die Einsiedelei nähert sich wieder dem Ort Rio nell’Elba, internationales Flair wird mit Lokalkolorit konfrontiert, Bekanntes trifft auf Unbekanntes.

Intonazione soll ein musikalisches, kulturelles und kulinarisch – soziales Angebot auf höchstem Niveau bieten.

Rassegna di musica a Santa Caterina, Rio nell’Elba

C’è un’aura di spiritualità e di carica energetica a Santa Caterina. Posto sul Monte Serra dove gli strati delle roccie si strofinano l’uno con l’altro, eretto su un tempio antico, il convento divenne luogo di pellegrinaggio dopo due apparizioni della Santa nel ’600.
Santa Caterina – patrona dei filosofi e degli intellettuali – è un luogo di creatività artistica e scientifica. Un posto magico pieno di energia e misticismo da migliaia di anni.
Su questo campo di forza si svolge ogni anno a partire da giugno 2010 la rassegna di musica Intonazione. Offre rappresentazioni di musica antica ad un livello altissimo in luoghi ad essa predestinati. Oltre a ciò gli artisti invitati creeranno opere nate nel dialogo con lo spazio illimitato di Santa Caterina, opere che poi vengono esibite nel luogo stesso della loro genesi. Negli ultimi trent’anni, dopo essere stato riscoperto dal fotografo e scrittore tedesco Hans Georg Berger, le caratteristiche uniche di questo luogo sono entrate in un dialogo fruttuoso con le qualità di centinaia di artisti e scientifici. Con Intonazione vogliamo rientrare in questa preziosa tradizione, intendiamo approfittare di nuovo del potenziale creativo di Santa Caterina, l’Eremo si avvicinerà così al paese, l’atmosfera internazionale verrà messa a confronto con le particolarità locali, il conosciuto incontrerà lo sconosciuto.
Intonazione offrirà una gamma musicale, culturale, culinario ad un livello altissimo.

An aura of highly charged spirituality pervades Santa Caterina. Perched on the slopes of Monte Serra, where stone rubs on stone, and built upon an ancient temple, the monastery has been a place of pilgrimage since the miraculous appearance of Saint Catherine in 1624. Named for the patron saint of philosophers and intellectuals, Santa Caterina is a place of creative artistry and scholarship, a magical spot that has been charged with energy and mysticism for thousands of years.

In June and July 2010, this force field becomes the venue for Intonazione, a music festival that is to be staged annually. It features performances of early music at sites that have been predestined for such use for centuries. In addition, the festival will be a place of creative dialogue between the performing artists and the locations – the monastery church, the Cathedral of Rio nell’Elba and the Giardini Pubblici – that will result in works being performed in the very place they were created.

Over the past 30 years, following the rediscovery of the monastery by the German photographer and writer Hans Georg Berger, hundreds of artists and scholars have entered into fruitful dialogue with this unique place. The Intonazione festival intends to continue this tradition, breathing new life into the creative potential of Santa Caterina, bringing the Hermitage closer to the people of Rio nell’Elba, and juxtaposing international flair with local colour, the known with the unknown.
Intonazione is to be a place that sets new musical, cultural, culinary and social standards.
